Tung Wah Group of Hospitals was lent the fourth floor of International Funeral Parlour as the North Point Funeral Parlour for providing non-profitable low-priced funeral services to the public in 1971. Back then, International Funeral Parlour was still privately-owned and located in North Point. Subsequently, the Board of Directors of Tung Wah received quite a number of requests from people in Kowloon and the New Territories believing that there was a need to set up similar funeral parlours in Kowloon districts. Hence, over $600,000 was granted to renovate a funeral hall in Kwong Wah Hospital near Dundas Street, install air-conditioning and equipment, set up Yau Ma Tei Funeral Parlour, and purchase two more hearses in order to provide services to the public in Kowloon and the New Territories districts. Until 1977, owing to the dilapidated and under-utilized equipment, all equipment and staff in the parlour were all transferred to the newly established Diamond Hill Funeral Parlour where the present site is.
Diamond Hill Funeral Parlour and International Funeral Parlour which is also operated by Tung Wah adopt Central Resource System. They share the use of 6 hearses and an 8-seat passenger van.
